Automotive engineering firm MIRA and Briiel & Kjaer have signed an agreement to collaborate on providing turnkey noise, vibration and harshness (NVH) testing solutions and consultancy for vehicle-development optimisation. The agreement, which will allow the two businesses to share knowledge, will also see MIRA upgrade its solutions by purchasing a range of products from Briiel & Kjaer, a sound and vibration equipment manufacturer. It is hoped the state-of-the-art equipment will provide users increased accuracy and the ability to design and demonstrate the noise characteristics of a new vehicle by driving a virtual version first-negating the need for expensive, time-consuming prototyping and maximising evaluation efficiency.
