Drugs may one day be delivered to targeted regions of the body with polymer capsules that disassemble in way that resembles toppling dominoes.rnThis is the goal of a Queen Mary University research project looking at cross-linked nanogel materials that unravel and decompose in a sequence when triggered by a stimulus such as a specific enzyme in the body or change in pH level or temperature.rnPrincipal investigator Marina Resmini said that nanoparticles have been developed for delivering drugs in the past but have always come with drawbacks.
