Skilled workforce key to UK's future

In its 'skills for growth' whitepaper launched in December, the UK government put investment in skills at the heart of its business agenda. Unsurprisingly, manufacturing, engineering and technology, which the government repeatedly claims should be at the core of a rebalanced economy, were identified as areas where this investment could provide the maximum return.
