Researchers have found a way to improve the performance of organic solar cells, while maintaining the flexibility of the solution-based process, using carbon nanotubes. Organic photovoltaics (PVs) potentially promise cheap, lightweight devices, albeit at lower conversion efficiencies than crystalline materials such as silicon.
