Heading towards the ESAB research and development centre in Gothenburg, Sweden, the company executives are keen to make clear that they are keeping up with the times. The trademark yellow of the company fills the corridors, as does a hub of activity, with engineers involved in developing new technologies for welding and cutting. Energy efficiency has become a buzzword at the centre and the company is marketing a number of systems that it believes will save both energy, time and money.
