Tooling has magnetic attraction

DP Seals' in-house tool-room is using magnets in a rubber-to-metal bonding application. The innovative tool holds steel washers in place while moulding top-hat acoustic washers for a leading vibration control engineering company. Three high-powered magnets, built into the tool, ensure accurate washer positioning during the moulding process allowing neoprene polymer to flow around and through the washer to ensure the required levels of acoustic isolation.
