Top trophy

A mechanical engineering student has won the competition to design a trophy for the Queen Elizabeth Prize for Engineering. Euan Fairholm won the 2014 Create the Trophy Competition with his Golden Crown design, which was 3D printed for the competition by BAE Systems. Fairholm, a student at Glasgow University, designed the trophy via the QEPrize App and will now set to work on the final form. The 20-year-old also won £2,000 as part of his prize for designing the trophy that will be presented to the winner of the Queen Elizabeth Prize for Engineering in 2015.
