Compressor control is critical for refinery oil production

For one GE customer, increasing crude oil production at a refinery by 7 per cent required meticulous attention to detail when switching compressors. To complete the modification and achieve the desired increase in output, the customer replaced the existing wet gas compressor in the fluid catalytic cracking unit (FCCU) with a new Dresser-Rand motor-driven compressor package.
