To minimise the risk of production downtime and guarantee a quick response in the event of a fault, paint manufacturer Dinova has replaced the variable-frequency drives in its mixers with a compact PowerXL DG1 drive from Eaton featuring an integrated motor protection relay. Dinova has been able to minimise fault sources, prevent mechanical resonance from affecting the mixing element and reduce energy loss in the motor by dynamically maintaining the voltage/ frequency curve at a minimum.
