As this issue of The Engineer went to press we were picking over the implications of PSA group's long-awaited acquisition of GM's European operations.Most significantly for the UK, the deal has seen the French firm take control of Vauxhall, which employs 4,500 staff at Ellesmere Port and Luton.Announced in the same month that the government has timetabled the formal triggering of Article 50, theacquisition could prove to be an acid test for the healthof the sector post-Brexit.
