'World-first' commercial-scale cement works' net zero fuel trial declared a success

The trial, funded by the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy via trade group the MineralProducts Association, used hydrogen for the commercial-scale manufacturing of cement, “for the very first time”,said a statement from the company.The fruit of several years’ efforts, the fuel mix consisted of tanker-delivered hydrogen as well as meat and bonemeal and glycerine – by-products from rendering and the biodiesel industry, respectively.
