Italian seaming equipment specialist Imeta is celebrating the 20th anniversary of its Gear Driven Lifter Kit conver- sion for the Angelus 60L machine. rnBy motorising the lifters in the ubiquitous US-made seamer, Imeta enabled customers to improve rnits productivity while using lighter-gauge cans. rnProblems appeared when canmakers and their customers started using thinner-gauge tinplate and aluminium which was unable to withstand the loads being applied to the can by the chucks. Driving the lifters enabled the use of lower loads.
