Switch between coil and stock in end-making

An end-making system which can be converted to operate on either sheets or coil has been launched by Stolle Machinery. rnOne potential use for the S2C Sheet to Coil system is for end manufacturers who want to convert from printed sheets to rnprinted coil, says Stolle. rnCPMC, the packaging division of Chinese group Cofco, installed the first commercial S2C system and is due to begin production in the first quarter of 2009. The company purchased the unit to better control the coating quality of its endstock for beverage can ends, after finding high-quality coated coils difficult to source compared to high-quality coated sheet stock.
