Brazil to raise canned seafood consumption

Brazil's canmaking industry is expected to benefit from government measures that aim to increase production and consumption of fish products. rnA weak economy and health campaigns are expected to raise demand of canned fish such as tuna and sardines. The leading brand in the country, fish canner Gomes da Costa, part of Spain's Calvo group, forecasts growth of 2.5 percent for the sector in 2009.
