Rexam to add a canmaking line in Chile

Rexam is adding a second line at its beverage can plant in Santiago de Chile, for commissioning in the third quarter of next year. The £20 million (US$31m) project is for an 800 million can-a-year line to make speciality and standard aluminium cans for customers in both the domestic and Peruvian markets. The plant's present line is understood to have capacity to manufacture 600 million standard size cans a year.
