The CMB 5000 Bodymaker is a long-established machine used throughout the global two-piece D&I canmaking industry. The latest model developed by UK-based manufacturer CarnaudMetalbox Engineering is the CMB 5610, which offers canmakers the ability to produce, amongst other sizes, 'imperial pint' 56.8cl cans - compared to the previous maximum size of 50cl. It is an illustration of how speciality sizes are increasingly taking a share of the beverage can market in Europe and North America, and canmakers are adapting accordingly.
