Woolworths deal for food canner

Australian food canner SPC Ardmona has signed a A$7 million (US$6.3m) deal to supply canned fruit to Woolworths. Canned products including peaches and pears will be sold through national retailer's Home-Select brand. The announcement is welcome positive news for the fruit canner, which is owned by Coca-Cola Amatil (CCA), with its core business being harshly impacted by cheap canned food imports.
