Curing oven for sheets saves energy

A curing oven for aluminium and steel sheets offering high efficiency and low gas consumption has been developed by German company Hebenstreit. Called the TopDryer, the system is suitable for sheets from 0.14mm to 0.50mm thick, and incorporates the company's 'Econogy' incinerator technology which provides gas consumption savings of up to 70 percent compared to conventional incinerators, says Hebenstreit. On the system infeed, a dynamic vacuum sheet braking system offers a smooth slow-down of the sheets to avoid marking or scratching, and operates at speeds of up to 8,000 sheets an hour.
