The Cans of the Year Awards, backed by The Canmaker magazine, have since 1996 offered a showcase of the best that the world's carmakers have to offer to brand managers. The 2012 awards, announced during The Canmaker Summit in Tokyo on 27 September, attracted entries from canmakers and their customers, and was the first time that an entry from the Fancy Can category received the overall title.
