Henkel makes billion-dollar bid for Darex

Henkel, the German-based adhesive specialist, has made a bid for Darex Packaging Technologies, a leading manufacturer of coatings and sealants for the canmaking industry. Exclusive negotiations have started with its owner GCP Applied Technologies to acquire the Darex business for US$1.05 billion on a cash and debt free basis.
