An Italian canmaker specialising in easy-open food ends is one of many in the metal packaging industry that has continued to operate during the coronavirus pandemic, protecting workers while increasing production to meet demand from customers. The crisis has also provided an opportunity for Easytech Closures SpA to improve internal processes - including the adoption of measures to ensure the safety of its workforce - which have enabled it to avoid stopping production. As a result, the canmaker has reported no cases of coronavirus among its workforce. Easytech has achieved this by introducing a code of practice, which includes a number of strict controls for workers and visitors to the plant near Salerno to prevent the spread of the virus.
