Arconic downgauges canstock in Russia

One of Russia's largest manufacturers of semifinished aluminium products, Arconic SMZ, owned by US-based Arconic Inc, has expanded the scope of its coil-coating line for ends and is working on further downgauging of its coil used for beverage can bodies. Regional packaging sales director at Arconic SMZ Olga Salistra said that sales had been growing in Russia's canstock business and the company was making further investments to maintain its leading position.
