The spiral bi-directional can accumulator offered by Pride Conveyance Systems has been upgraded to provide more capacity with a smaller footprint. Part of the US-based Roeslein group, Pride says that the accumulator - which handles 400 to 6,000 cans per minute in both the infeed and discharge — offers greater capacity while using a seventh of the floor space. The spiral accumulator offers double the capacity of other large flat-belt systems. Pride claims that no other accumulation system is able to match the can storage density and gentle handling of its spiral accumulator. It adds that on average with this system, it is possible to increase productivity by 200,000 cans per day.
