International food and drink group Princes has launched a range of tuna fillet products in the UK using a metal can with a clear film laminate lid. The Infused Tuna Fillet lines are aimed at a new audience for Princes, targeting shoppers who are on the look-out for health, taste and convenience, with the aim of growing penetration in the segment. The product range, which also includes Mackerel Sizzle fillets in more conventional aluminium cans, features new Princes pack designs which have been announced as part of a £5 million (US$6.24m) rebrand. Princes Infused Tuna Fillets comprise pieces of tuna infused in oil and are the first products of this kind in the UK market, aiming to drive premiumisation. The easy-open see-through film membrane ends are of a type produced by Swiss-based Amcor under the Clearfix brand. Princes was contacted with a request to confirm the source of the lids and cans.
