SLAC launches alternative lightweight beverage end

Anew design for lightweight easy-open beverage ends has been launched by China-based SLAC Group to challenge established offerings in the global canned drinks market. The SLAC Optimised End is claimed to provide similar or better weight savings as the dominant stay-on-tab ends being used in many markets, compared with the long-established industry-standard B64 end originally developed by Alcoa But unlike the two lightweight ends that are increasingly being used worldwide, the SLAC Optimised End will be offered to end manufacturers with little or no long contracts or royalties on each end sold.
