Artist Henry Moore founded the Henry Moore Foundation in 1977 to encourage public appreciation o f the visual arts. Despite careful preservation o f landscape and buildings at Moore's home at Perry Green, Hertfordshire, the foundation had outgrown its facilities. Its headquarters at Dane Tree House has been repurposed to accommodate environmentally controlled art stores and offices, and extended to accommodate visitors within a timber and glass pavilion, which wraps around three sides and doubles up with a sweeping curve to create the curators’ first-floor off ices.
