Over the past several years, Mount Vernon Mills has aggressively pursued a capital spending program, making the firm one of the most technologically modern textile companies in the business. Use of latest technology is clearly evident at the Apparel Div.'s two plants in Trion, Ga. Despite being housed in one of U.S. textiles' oldest structures (TW, Nov, '96, p. 45), Mount Vernon's Trion Plant is one of the world's leading producers of indigo denim, turning out approximately 1.5-million yd weekly. The nearby Trion Finishing Plant turns out more than 2.0-million yd of high-quality apparel fabrics each week.
