Mount Vernon Mills launches new flexible FR fabric

Mount Vernon Mills has launched a new range of flame retardant (FR) fabrics called FlexTex, designed to provide increased comfort and flexibility. The fabrics include an elastomeric fibre that allows the fabric to flex by up to 14％ with a 97％ recovery. The company says the bilateral flex allows the fabrics to elongate sideways and diagonally to prevent sagging or bagging. The fabrics meet the requirements of ASTM F1506 for flame resistant and arc rated textile materials and US-based National Safety Apparel is the first company to adopt the new collection.
