Production, consumption, imports and exports of cotton will stabilize worldwide in the next few years. However, shifts and changes will continue to take place among the individual countries. E-commerce will not be able to make significant inroads into traditional trading in the medium term. Standards and classification are only in their early stages relative to the potential that still exists. Changes in this field could bring about enormous changes in behaviour patterns.
