In May 2003 Dr. Martin Folini, Head of Rieter Spun Yarn Systems, officially opened the new SpinCenter. For Rieter, it has always been a matter of course not merely to manufacture and sell machinery. Providing textile technology support has long been part of its extended range of services. Larger feeding and transport units for supplying and removing material ensure long running times, despite increased production speeds. Consequently, more space is needed. Modern machines also need good air conditioning. Fibrous materials react to moisture and heat - good air conditioning is essential to achieve high spinning speeds while maintaining high yarn quality. For these reasons, and in order to provide space for a wider range of machines, the existing customer service spinning installation in Winterthur has been expanded into a SpinCenter. Through this investment Rieter will provide support for its customers and will also boost its advisory capacity.
