The Indian textile and apparel industry would be spending an amount of US$ 50 billion for expansion and modernization of the textile and apparel sector, in spheres of spinning, weaving, processing, knitting, finishing, dyeing and printing. Government of India, Ministry of Textiles and the Indian textile industry have targeted US$ 115 billion textile and apparel output during the 11th five year plan period ending in financial year 2012.
