The latest Picanol OptiMax rapier weaving machine was introduced to the Chinese market on October 10,2007. The event took place at Kaiping Panther Textiles, one of Picanol's reference customers. The OptiMax produces high-end shirting at a speed of 700 insertions per minute at the brand new Kaiping Panther Textiles plant in Kaiping City, In the Chinese province of Guangdong. Kaiping Panther Textiles is currently one of the largest denim producers in the world. In addition to weaving, Panther is also involved in textile spinning and dyeing. Kaiping Panther Textiles now works exclusively with 590 Picanol weaving machines.
