Merger Won't Impact RPL Refinery Status - India's Commerce Secretary

Reacting to the merger announcement, India's Commerce Secretary, Mr G.K. Pillai stated that the merger of Reliance Petroleum Ltd with Reliance Industries Ltd will not impact the status of the former's refinery in the Special Economic Zone at Jamnagar. "The SEZ unit is a separate subsidiary of RPL. It is a separate profit centre. There will be no impact on that unit", Mr Pillai stated.
