Mr K. Ramachandran Pillai, Chairman and Managing Director, NTC Ltd spoke to Textile India Progress on the company's future activities and growth plan. In an interview with Textile India Progress Mr Ramachandran said that "There were originally 119 sick mills, out of which 77 mills were closed and 40 mills have been taken up for revival and 2 mills were handed over to the Government of Puducherry as on 1.4.2005". Out of the 40 mills, 23 mills have been taken up for modernization directly by NTC Ltd and 16 mills are slated for revival through joint venture", Mr Ramachandran said.
