SKF innovations for the Indian railway industry

SKF has a range of innovations to support the Indian railway industry as it further develops in all areas of its rolling stock. The solutions are designed to provide both significant functional performance, and also improve environmental performance. In addition SKF has just opened a factory in Ahmeda-bad to provide manufacturing capacity to a number of industry segments including Indian railways.rnFor high-speed vehicles SKF has developed engineering solutions for European and Asian highspeed trains e.g. in Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Sweden and China. These packages consist of tailor made axleboxes, bearing units and sensors, traction motor and gearbox bearings. The sensors are used for a wide field of applica-rntions such as for brakes, macrographs, automatic train control and bogie monitoring systems, doors etc. Many of these technologies and solutions can be utilised by the Indian Railway Industry in future projects.
