Capacity Building

Mr. V K Ladia, Past Chairman, CITI while chairing the business session on capacity building observed that during last ten years there had been no capacity built up in the manmade staple fibre sector. The production of Polyester Staple Fiber, Viscose staple fiber and Acrylic fiber remained stagnant during the last several years. He also said that there would not be any additional capacities coming up as far as the staple fibers are concerned in the next three-four years. He also stressed that efforts on capacity should go beyond production facilities and should encompass training and marketing facilities as well as technology improvement.
