Vietnam is making a name for itself as another south-east Asian country with far-reaching prospects for the international textile industry. According to an analysis carried out by the National Development and Reform Commission in Peking during last year, work-intensive Chinese export companies were transferring their production to Vietnam and Indonesia in particular because of the increasing cost of wages and materials in the People's Republic. It is reported that the competitiveness in these countries increased further in 2011.
