Reliance Industries to Invest ￥ 1.5 Trillion in 3 Years

Mr Mukesh Ambani, Chairman and Managing Director, Reliance Industries Ltd addressing the 39th Annual General Meeting of the company on 6 June, 2013, said that "We will invest f 1.5 lakh crore across our core business verticals over the next three years. The company has embarked on the biggest investment programme in its history. Investments would be made in exploration and production of oil and gas, petroleum refining and marketing, petrochemicals, retail and 4G broadband networks". Reliance Industries Ltd will be expanding its polyester filament yarn capacity from 1.4 million tonnes to 4 million tonnes a year. The polyester filament yarn plant at Silvassa will be commissioned in the first half of the current financial year. This will be followed by the polyethylene terephthalate (PE) resin plant in the second half of the year at Dahej, making the company the seventh largest producer of PET in the world.
