摘要

To study factors in securing buttons to fabrics, we conducted experiments using L9 Orthogonal array (Taguchi's Method) on button sewing on woven and knitted fabrics. Button sewing was carried out with parallel formed stitches on four hole buttons and using the Juki computer controlled high speed lock stitch button sewing machine. Results show that the combination of heavy fabric with fine threads, medium size buttons medium size needles and medium number of stitches produced the highest button pull strength. There was no effect on pull strengths before and after washing.
