摘要

The role played by innovation clusters in the adoption of innovations by organizations was studied with a sample of 233 businesses from a midwestern state. The innovation studied was the Internet and its adoption was examined in relation to clusters of telecommunications and computer innovations and with respect to conventional measures of innovation attributes and organizational characteristics. The study found that Internet adoption by organizations was related to the adoption of related clusters of innovations and that innovation clusters were superior predictors of adoption compared to organizational inno-vativeness, other organizational characteristics, and conventional measures of innovation attributes.
