RELIABLE STEAMING CONTROL IN NGN USING SCTP

摘要

In era of network convergence from traditional connection oriented network to connectionless networks one need to have sufficiently reliable transporter which takes care of real-time signaling needs. SCTP is a reliable transport protocol operating on top of a connectionless packet network such as IP. Similar to signaling system no 7 (CCS) it provides reliable signaling and streaming in connectionless networks. This article describes capabilities of SCTP and its seamless interface between SS7 and SCTP. These can be implemented in real-time applications efficiently.
