Bulldog 'preparing triple-play challenge to UK's cable operators'

Cable & Wireless-owned Bulldog Communications is planning to launch the UK's first true DSL-based triple-play package by adding TV services to its voice and internet-access bundles, says the alternative operator's Softswitch vendor, Italtel. The strategy will bring Bulldog into direct competition with the UK's cable operators, NTL and Telewest, which both already offer triple-play packages, and TV-over-DSL operator Video Networks. "[Cable & Wireless chief executive] Francesco Caio has assigned Bulldog the task of being the one that brings triple-play services to the UK market," says Antonio D'Angelo, chief strategic officer at Italtel.
