Technology is among the few areas of the economy failing to add jobs consistently the last year, Challenger, Gray & Christmas said Tues. High-tech job cutting through the 3rd quarter is nearly 20% ahead of 2004, the outplacement firm said. Technology firms announced 41,439 job cuts in the quarter, up 4.3% from the 2nd quarter, analysts said. “The industry may indeed be recovering when it comes to revenue, profits and earnings, but certainly not when it comes to employment,” CEO John Challenger said.
