PLANNED PRESS CONFERENCE LEADS TO SPECULATION ON NEW SUPERCOMM

TIA and USTelecom plan a news conference today (Wed.) but won抰 say what it抯 about -- leading some to wonder if the 2 groups will recombine their annual trade shows. TIA Pres. Matt Flanigan told us in June he was open to working with USTelecom to reconstitute the old Supercomm. This was the first year the 2 groups held separate shows -- USTelecom抯 TelecomNext show in March in Las Vegas and TIA抯 Globalcomm in June in Chicago. Flanigan and USTelecom Pres. Walter McCormick will speak at the 1:30 p.m. online news conference.
