Fri. could see the FCC release an order addressing requests for changes to its designated entity (DE) rules. The FCC likely will address complaints that the rule changes shouldn抰 apply retroactively to licenses bought in previous auctions but at this point isn抰 expected to make major changes like those DEs including Council Tree want. The rules take effect Sat. DE rules for the advanced wireless services auctions should not apply to licenses bought in past auctions, small license holders told the FCC in a letter. The firms believe the rule revisions threaten auction integrity.
