EIGHT DEMOCRATS ADDED TO HOUSE COMMERCE COMMITTEE

The House Democratic Caucus approved nominations of eight new members to the Commerce Committee: Donna Christensen of the Virgin Islands; Kathy Castor, Florida; John Sarbanes, Maryland; Chris Murphy, Connecticut; Zack Space, Ohio; Jerry McNerney, California; Betty Sutton, Ohio; and Bruce Braley, Iowa. The caucus also approved the appointment of Rep. Edolphus Towns of New York to replace Rep. Henry Waxman, California, on the Oversight Committee. As a member of the Agriculture Committee this Congress, Rep. Space spearheaded several changes in the farm bill's broadband programs for rural areas.
