BRESNAN WANTS FCC TO HOLD CENTURYTEL TO WHOLESALING PROMISES

The FCC should make CenturyTel promise better service to wholesale customers to gain approval of its takeover of Embarq, said Bresnan Communications, which competes with CenturyTel in Montana and Colorado. "As a facilities-based provider, all Bresnan needs from CenturyTel is access to customer information in order to submit a local service request to port telephone numbers and for CenturyTel to disconnect its lines without disrupting the customer's service," Bresnan said. "Yet these routine functions have been the source of extraordinary delay."
