OBAMA SPOTLIGHTS BROADBAND IN OUTLINING ECONOMY PROPOSAL

President-elect Barack Obama highlighted broadband in his economic recovery package, presented in a speech Thursday at George Mason University in Fairfax, Va. He said the package should help "retrofit America for a global economy," including "expanding broadband lines across America, so that a small business in a rural town can connect and compete with their counterparts anywhere in the world."
