State Regulators Speak Out in Favor of Money for Supervising Use of Stimulus Grants

The Obama administration should get additional money so it can check on the progress of its nbroadband stimulus grants, the National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners told ncongressional leaders by letter. The association told the outgoing House Speaker Nancy nPelosi, D-Calif., Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., the probable Speaker John nBoehner, R-Ohio, and current Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., that it's n"imperative" that the NTIA and the Rural Utilities Service have enough money to oversee the n$7 billion broadband stimulus. NTIA has asked Congress for nearly $24 million in the fiscal n2011 budget.
