GAO Suggests FCC Keep Closer Tabs on E-Rate

The GAO encouraged the FCC to do “a robust risk assessment” of the E-Rate program. The ncommission's oversight “may not appropriately consider program risk,” and it's unclear nwhether the FCC has an efficient, well-targeted plan for keeping hold of the purse strings, nGAO said.
